Jimmy C has been a passionate photographer for over 25 years. In 2004, he founded LuminousImpression, a commercial photography business that produces images for websites, publications, stock agencies, and actor and model portfolios.
Raised by a father who was a camera buff, and a mother who was a commercial artist and kept a darkroom in their home, Jimmy was exposed to camera equipment and nude models at a young age. “Nudity is something that I always found natural, and I always appreciated the beauty of it.” When cameras and the darkroom went digital, Jimmy was in heaven. “Seriously, it allowed me to be much more creative without the frustration of film. The real work is in the lighting, set design, and prop building.”
For aspiring models, Jimmy offers discounted rates. More established models usually negotiate a trade agreement—meaning Jimmy will shoot one set of what you want and one set of what he wants. It works out well and it appeases his wife.
With his creative work gaining popularity on the web (www.sugarkittycorsets.com, www.atomicpinup.com), in the movies (Little Sex Shop of Horrors), and in art shows (Humanity Unveiled 2009, Baltimore Erotic Art Festival 2008), Jimmy prefers to work with experienced models who move comfortably in front of the camera. “Some beautiful people cannot model, and some average-looking people produce the most wonderful looks. I will always take the latter.” Jimmy encourages anyone with a great smile and attitude to try modeling. “It’s all about feeling good during the shoot. This will carry over to the photos and convey to the viewer. Modeling is all about carefree fun!”
